Just imagine everybody being a little less demonic-looking.

Nantucket

This is the house that I stayed in. He hadn't told me, and I was sooo mad/embarassed. We went out for birthday dinner anyway.

That's Andrew's sister sitting opposite me. I got to drive it for like 30 seconds until all the boys decided I was too rubbish.
While on the boat I said "My, she was yar" about 10.4385 bajillion times. Anyone who knows what that's a reference to gets 12 bibi-cool gold stars.

We went to the Tennis Club for Independence Day. It was very, very Gilmores-esque. Fanciest cookout of my life, like being in a Ralph Lauren catalogue, but with balloon animals.

Andrew and I had a romantic beach picnic. That's a superfancy bottle of champagne next to, um, the French's mustard and Heinz ketchup. (juxtaposition, much?)

It started raining in Nantucket and wouldn't stop, so we were trapped in the house playing Scrabble and doing crosswords for two days. We got bored and decided to leave so we went to...

Bedford, which is out in the country in upstate New York.

The place is designed for fun. Lots of lego, a trampoline, a really deep pool and the best rope swing I've ever seen.

New York

I apparently didn't take many photos in New York. I guess I was too busy, or something. I went for dinner with a bunch of the people that I met on the boat, which was lovely.

Andrew & I went to a Yankees game. I am now an absolute expert on baseball. Ask me anything. I ate a hotdog.

Andrew had to go to Boston one morning so I went to the Chanel exhibit at the Met by myself. If there's anything that will guarantee to make you feel like you're dressed like a bum, it's a Chanel exhibit. I spent pretty much the rest of the day/rest of my life lamenting my lack of evening gowns.

On Thursday we got Starbucks and drank it on a bench in Central Park then we went out for brunch and then to H&M and Barney's. It was pretty much the best day of my life.

On our way out for dinner on the aforementioned 'best day of my life'

Now I'm home. I'm happy to be home, I suppose, but I'm sad that he's not here. He's going to visit next month, though, so that's something to look forward to.

and also, more importantly, the Harry Potter book comes out today. That's something to really look forward to. wee.

Wearing a lifejacket is not the best way to make a good first impression.

Nobody can look cool wearing one.

I tried anyway.

(fun fact:In the interests of gender-equality, we now say 'person overboard' rather than 'man overboard' if someone falls off the ship. My mum took loads of pictures of us, but this is the only one where I'm not looking at my feet. I LOVE ballroom dancing but I really do suck at it.
There's a picture of The Guy at the bottom. Keep reading.

I met John Cleese and went for drinks in his suite (with like 5 other people from Oxford University. It wasn't a me-and-john-cleese-all-alone-in-the-apartment-drinking kind of thing). That was AWESOME. He's super nice and super tall. I've never really seen any Monty Python, so I pretended to be above all that and didn't talk about his work. He probably wasn't fooled at all.

I met a ton of people. I met lots more people than this (including people who weren't, you know, twice my age.) Jokes about statutory rape to the parents of the person in question, it turns out, are not funny at all. You live and learn.

I drank more Veuve than a person should be allowed to in a lifetime. I had a grad party in the champagne lounge last night with thirty of my new friends from the boat. But I missed you lot.

I need to hear everything about Grad asap. I'm coming into school tomorrow despite suffering from intensual jetlag. I love you guys. and I love ships.

Photos soon!!!

There is uberstrange fatherdrama going on. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

OKAY, I have a huge dilemma. I have no idea what to do.

My mum has been offered a guest-lecturer position on the Queen Mary 2, the world's biggest (and newest) ocean liner in the world from June 8th to June 15th. It's sailing from NEW YORK to LONDRES and she can take a guest (ie moi). oh my god, how fucking amazing, how awesome....but hold on a cotton-pickin' second isn't that when GRAD is? Oh yes.

SO, do I miss grad and go on the most fabulous boat ever invented or do I take part in the once-in-a-lifetime experience of my own graduation?

Thinking points for this one:

My mama is definitely going on the ship, so my grad would be sans maman anyway.

Seth Cohen didn't miss his prom

The Olsens did

I went to prom once already

The boat is legally Britain so I can drink on it. And there's a champagne lounge and nightclub on board.

I'll miss a week of school

It's GRAD
